Installation Guide

Download PrintEx from the PrintEx download page, then follow the steps for your platform below.

Windows Installation

PrintEx ships as a zip file containing a standalone Windows app. No Python install is required.

1 Download and extract

Download the latest Windows zip from the download page. Right-click it and choose Extract All.

2 Run PrintEx

Open the extracted PrintEx folder and double-click PrintEx.exe.

3 Keep the folder together

The zip includes the app files and built-in templates. Keep the extracted folder intact; moving only the executable may break the packaged resources.

Windows SmartScreen warning? Click More info, then Run anyway. This appears because the app is not code-signed yet.

The macOS build will be posted as a zip containing PrintEx.app. No Python install is required.

1 Download and extract

Download the latest macOS zip from the download page, then double-click the zip to extract it.

2 Move to Applications

Drag PrintEx.app into your Applications folder, or run it from the extracted folder while testing.

3 Open the app

If macOS blocks the first launch, Control-click PrintEx.app, choose Open, then confirm Open.

"PrintEx.app is damaged"? This is usually macOS quarantine on an unsigned app. From Terminal, run:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/PrintEx.app

Choose a template such as a round coaster, square coaster, coin, or license plate.
Import a raster image and drag or resize it inside the printable area.
Switch the grid between inches and millimeters as needed.
Export at standard 600 DPI or enhanced 1200 DPI.
Enable registration marks when you need alignment help outside the template border.
